I lost my son to abortion 21 years ago. It wasn't until 3 years ago I found a group that helps women recover from abortion. Pregnancy centers offer these courses throughout the country so maybe that is an option? It was 16 wks for me , it was hard, but I have been set free from the shame, guilt and depression I felt for nearly 18 years after losing him. I too am willing to text if you would like. I lost my daughter in 1988. She would have been 22 now. I was bullied into an abortion by my parents. I am now 39 and divorced without children (I don't know if I can have them or not- I didn't want them with my husband). My siblings have no children so my parents have no grandchildren and it serves them right. Sometimes I think I have forgiven them sometimes not. The grief comes and goes too.

December 6, 2011...so almost eight weeks ago. The emotions/shame/guitly, etc didn't start coming until about two and half weeks after it happened and I don't have anyone to really talk with about it. I've found a website, however, that you can go to and find a local chapter/support group that deals strictly with abortion recovery(http://saveone.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=29&Itemid=6&chapter=all). The link I've provided helps you find a chapter close to you. I hope this helps everyone and that we all are able to find some peace within ourselves. I have to believe that our children would want that for us.

1996, so 16 years ago. I repressed and didn't tell anyone, then 22 months ago when husband & I adopted, I had massive anxiety attacks. Recently, when my son was ill, I had more attacks feeling God would take my son as punishment for the abortion. My logical & spirtual mind knows is not true, but hard to be logical and spiritual when in throes of panic attack.
