Dear Chicago, Thank you for sharing your story. I am so proud of you for seeking help so soon. There is very good advice on our resource page and there is also a tab "for men". The book "Healing a father's heart" by Linda Cochrane is a very good resource for you to give to your boyfriend. Ask him also to check out this website, because men come on here and share their hearts and troubles also. You both are not alone. Seek the Word of God, most of all. Jesus is praying for both of you and wants to heal your hearts. Ask Jesus to come into your hearts and your lives, if you haven't already. He is the only One that can fill the void and ease the pain that you are feeling. As you receive His forgiveness, you both will be able to forgive yourselves. It is possible, don't give up. Hi everyone. It has only been 2 days since I terminated my very first pregnancy. It has been one week since I first found out and was in shock. I am 23 and always thought that when the time came that I was preggo I would be happy. I've been with my boyfriend for 4 months and when I told him I was pregnant he was just as shocked as I was. After days of contemplating what to do we decided to make an appt for a clinic. The days leading up to the appt were the most confusing and hardest I've ever been through. I wanted him to want the baby like I did but because of issues and worries I slowly became content with the decision. It's two days later and I want to fall apart every other second of the day. I know it will be difficult to see children for a while, think of the projected due date..I just worry this decision wasn't the correct one. I feel in my heart that as time goes on things will become better but when your deep in a hole and you feel alone, it's difficult to pull yourself up to the light on your own. Not only am I grieving, my boyfriend is as well. I try to get him to talk to me and we can get through this together but he doesn't know how to seek help from a loved one that would understand and doesn't like to speak with strangers. I've been through hard loss before but he never has. I know I will be recieving help through here because I know I'm not alone. I've been looking up possible things to help my boyfriend but I was also wondering if anyone has any personal advice from their experiences on helping their boyfriend or husband cope through an abortion as well. Thank you in advance and I'm happy to be here.
