I had my abortion a week ago. I don't really know where to begin my feelings. I am regretful and angry with myself. 95% of my decision to go through with this was for the would be father. Now all I do is think about what my baby would have looked like and what our family would have been like. Also, I believe the would be father is having regrets. Obviously, I can't go back but do I ever begin to forgive myself?

Dear TishyLiz,
Thank you for the honor of sharing your heart with us. I am grieving your loss with you. You are very brave to reach out for help so soon after the abortion. I am praying for you that the Lord Jesus would give you peace and comfort during this difficult time. Check out our resource page for abortion recovery groups. I know that you may feel like it is too soon to face this with others, but pray about it. It would be well worth your time to start this healing process, because healing after an abortion is a process. Our hearts are healed by our sweet Lord and His Word, layer by layer. Receive the Lord's forgiveness and choose to forgive yourself. I know it is difficult, but not impossible. Trust Him with your heart completely, for Jesus is the only One that can help us be whole again after the tragedy of our lost babies. I am feeling you, my sister. You are not alone. Never give up.
You are loved and appreciated,
Doodlebug
